Forest Schools

Welcome to Forest School

We are delighted to announce that all classes will be taking part in forest schools this year.

For these sessions to run as successfully as possible it is important that your child has the correct clothing, as we will go to forest schools whatever the weather. School is providing your child with waterproof trousers and a jacket. Your child will need a jumper/fleece, wellies, a hat, scarf and gloves in the winter months. During the summer months, they will need wellies, a sun hat and a water bottle. It is best if your child can keep a named pair of wellies at school all week for the duration of the term. We will be outside for the whole sessions and be aware that we may get wet and muddy- this is half of the fun.

We will be sharing hot chocolate, biscuits, fruit and vegetables during each session. Please let the office know if your child has any allergies.

Beech and Ash Class.

In the first few weeks of Forest School, we have been learning about the rules of Forest School understanding how we can look after our environment and learn in a sustainable way. We have explored the area using our senses. We have used our eyes to look at all the different areas, our ears to listen and observe all of the different sounds we can hear, and our touch to feel the different textures of the materials that are found outside in our natural environment.

23.10.18 Beech Class

This week we went out to our forest school to do some more exploring, some of us did leaf rubbings with Mrs Williamson, and some of us explored the outdoors to see what we could create with the things that we find. We made a den with Mr Marriott and Miss Beal.
