Speech & Language at Healdswood
At Healdswood we have our very own SALSA (Speech and Language Support Assistant), Mrs Walton. Mrs Walton works every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday supporting children who have specific language impairments.
What is a SALSA?
A Speech and Language Support Assistant (SALSA) works closely with the NHS Speech and Language therapy Service to support children who have specific language impairments by providing advice and support to teachers and carrying out specific programmes of work with the children. They model programmes to teaching assistants and provide advice and strategies to the class teachers to ensure these children can achieve their potential in school.
