Sports Grant

At Healdswood Infant and Nursery School we believe Physical Education (PE) and Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better. Through participation in Sport and PE, our pupils also learn about co-operation skills, teamwork, fair play and respect for themselves and others. We believe it is important for children to have a variety of skills to help them in their future. PE can develop children’s self-confidence and social skills through team building and individual achievements. We think even the smallest of achievements are important for their progression in sports.

We welcomed the Government’s announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding to improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools. Since then the government has been committed to funding Primary PE and Sport Premium funding. We are committed to using this resource to further improve the quality of our PE provision and extend the opportunities and experiences for our pupils.
