Here you can see some of the fantastic things that happen in school.  Please enjoy looking at the photos!

Sport Relief - 13.3.20

Today the whole school took part in raising money for Sport Relief.  In the morning we all took part in our daily mile sessions, but did them with a twist!  We were challenged to move in different ways to complete our daily mile eg bunny hops, swimming arms, hopscotch feet or riding around on bikes.  In the afternoon we used the loose change that the families had donated to spell out the words 'Sport Relief'.

Foundation Stage Drama Workshop - 7.2.20

Today our Foundation children took part in a drama workshop to support our learning of 'The Gingerbread Man'.  They learned about the different character and acted out parts of the story, it was great fun!

Christingle 29th November 2019

Today the whole school celebrated Christingle with a lovely service in our school hall.  Every child made their own Christingle and learnt what the different parts symbolised.

Baking Club - 19.9.19

Every Thursday Miss Barford and Mrs Elliott run our after school Baking Club.  This week we made 'Rice Crispie Surprises'.  Have a look at the photos below to see how they turned out!

Year 2 Graduation

Well done to all our fabulous Year 2 children who graduated last week.  Your assembly was amazing and we all wish the children the very best of luck as they move onto Junior School.

Race For Life - 12.7.19

Well done to all the children and staff who ran our Healdswood Race For Life.  It was so lovely to see everyone join together to raise money for a cause that is so close to the children of Healdswood.  Well don everyone, we raised £92.80 for Cancer Research UK.

Chicks!

Our Foundation unit has just said 'Goodbye' to a group of 15 chicks who have now gone to loving new homes.  The children watched the chicks hatch from eggs and grow very quickly over 10 days.  We talked about the chick's lifecycle, how they hatch, how to care for them and handle them with kindness.  The children have absolutely loved having chicks in the unit and are desperate to have a permanent class pet in the near future!

World Book Day 2019

We had a blast on World Book Day!  The day kicked off with an assembly where we learnt about World Book Day and each class performed a catwalk to show off their amazing costumes.  Thank you parents and carers - everyone looked fab!  We decided to centre this year's World Book Day on one of our favourite authors Julia Donaldson throughout school with each class choosing a book to focus on.  In classes we did lots of literacy and art activities about our chosen book.  We enjoyed reading lots of stories throughout the day.  A big thank you to everyone who came to our after school book fair.

Friday 9th November 2018

Remembrance Day Assembly

Today the whole school took part in a very special Remembrance Day assembly.  We invited to the assembly any family and friends who have served in the armed forces and learned about who they were and what it was like to serve. After our assembly we had our own parade to a special tree where the whole school laid crosses that they had made to remember the fallen and observed a minutes silence.

22nd October 2018 - Poppy Competition

Today the whole school took part in a Poppy Making event. We had an assembly where we were told about Remembrance Day and why we wear Poppies. We then took part in an art afternoon where we all created our own Poppies. In the pictures below you can see what we all created.

Royal Wedding 18.5.18

Today the whole school celebrated the wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle.  We had a special assembly to find out about who Prince Harry is and we watched video clips of the queen and Prince William's wedding.  Each class made crowns and flags for our afternoon celebrations when the whole school got together on the field for a picnic and royal games.  It was a super day!

Pumpkin Competition - October 2017

We had some amazing entries to our pumpkin competition this year!  It was great to see the spooky designs children had made with their families at home.  We chose a winner from each class who received a spooky activity book and DVD.

The winners from each year group received a £15 meal voucher for Kings Mill Farm, and some chocolate treats. We had a whole school assembly with the pumpkins flickering - the children loved it. Thank you to parents and carers for your hard work.
